FAQ’s
This is a free advertising opportunity, whats the catch?
There is no catch! We are working with the Race Online 2012 initiative to help people get online and we have chosen to target smaller businesses and give them a free online platform. We also have paid advertisements from larger corporations which helps to keep the service operating.
How do I post an advert to the directory?
Posting an advert on A-Local.biz can help raise your business profile to your target audience by increasing your online presence on major search engines. To post an advert is really easy. Just select ‘Add New Entry’ at the top left of the page and fill in the form with your business name and keywords (eg Bob the Builder – Builders in Birmingham), details, and contact information. You can add pictures and an address on the left. The section called ‘Tags’ on the left is where you can add keywords and the area you cover ensuring your advert can be found easily. Don’t forget to select a category for your business to fit into from the drop down menu on the left too. This will help searchers to find your advert quickly particularly those looking for local services. When you have completed the form, click ‘Add’ and… Voila! Job done!
Why won’t the photo on my advert upload?
The photos need to be uploaded as a JPEG with a maximum size on 64MB. Maybe the photo that you are using is too large on in an incorrect format.
I can’t find a suitable category for my advert. Help!
If you cannot find a suitable category, please contact us on classifications@a-local.biz and we will endeavour to create a category especially for you!

Please feel free to advertise on our sister website www.a-local.co.uk which is specifically for the general public. www.a-local.biz is for businesses and tradesmen wishing to promote their services.
Do I have to put my address on the advert?
By putting an address, it is easier for your customers to find you and helps your business to look more professional. However, an address is not mandatory but we would request that you put a contact telephone number or email address on the advert.
